Why Is It Important for a Conscious Dance Teacher to be a Part of a Professional Organisation?

Watch and listen to 6 teachers from 6 ICMTA recognised school answer this question.

by Lina Kriskova, 19th October 2022

I am one of the first Open Floor "pancakes", and since the beginning of my training, it was required from me to be a part of a professional organisation. The ICMTA was specifically recommended by the school.

I was not an experienced professional, but rather a young traveller passionate about the dance. At that point, I didn't understand why belonging to a professional organisation was necessary, and became a member only to be able to become a teacher.

Over the years, slowly I started to understand a value of this belonging, mostly by talking to a dear friend, who was really passionate about this organisation. But when I started to work for the ICMTA, this question came back to me from many different people. And I thought the best way to answer is by letting the teachers talk - trusted teachers with decades of experience in this work, some of them founders of their school, and one from each ICMTA recognised school...

I hope their words will help you or your friends understand more clearly the value of belonging to a professional organisation...
