Continuing Professional Development
An important part of our mission is to support our members in their professional development and ongoing learning. We are currently offering regular monthly dances held by teachers for teachers: Feet 1st. Please see here for details and next dates.
The Turning of the Seasons
4 times a years, when the wheel of the season is shifting, our monthly dances take another turn and focus on a specific area of professional development and education. For example : diversity, equity and inclusion work on the dance floor ; music and DJ skills;,non-violent communication; sexuality; creative processes such as
writing / theatre / voice work in conscious movement spaces, etc. These "Tuning of the Seasons" sessions are held for 2 hours by a teacher expert of that field. They are free for ICMTA members and open to non-members with an entrance fee. If you have a particular skill or field of knowledge you would like to offer, please let us know at info@icmta.com. Expert teachers are paid for these events. Past CPD Events: WHAT WE DON'T KNOW: Embodied Social Justice for teachers of conscious movement who are interested in shared collaborative learning. Sue Rickards and Deborah Lewin offered Part I (July 18th 2021) and Part II (September 12th 2021) of this event to share their knowledge and experience in the field of Social Justice, as well as create a space for shared learning. One more event about Social Justice is currently in the cooking pot, please stay tuned. RESPONDING TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS: An Online Forum Andrew Holmes and Hilde Kloeck have begun to offer a series of exchanges exploring our relationship as conscious movement teachers to the Climate Crisis. More events coming soon - details here or in the newsletters. In March 2020, right at the beginning of all the lock-downs, Sarah Davies very swiftly offered ICMTA members a Zoom tutorial on teaching classes online. Many of us are still grateful to her for having helped us begin this new era of our teaching. The full video is available for members in the Resources For Members section. |
