Time Out by Hiromi

I love exploratory music.  Music that lets a dancer try out weird or quirky moves.  Where creativity can bloom with a sense of experimentation.

I often start this song around 1:40 secs..   It helps people slow down, work with shapes, and textures and flavors of their own unique expression.

I also like this song as it's important to me to consciously investigate different artists of different cultures.  And especially when someone might not normally be represented culturally or gender conforming in a particular genre.

Hiromi Uehara is an Japanese Jazz composer and pianist who blends musical genres like stride, post-hop, progressive rock, classical and fusion. Pretty great music...

Maybe also check out some live videos of her on Youtube.  She's a really dynamic performer.
